JEE Main 2022 number of attempts have been limited to two from four by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The National Testing Agency (NTA) has made the official announcement for this year, according to the reports.
NTA has decided to hold the JEE Main 2022 in the months of April and May. This has come in the view of low impact of coronavirus in this so-called wave of pandemic.
The Agency had conducted the exams in four sessions in the last academic year after the government announced to increase the number of attempts to write JEE for the candidates. A leading newspaper has quoted an official who acknowledged COVID-19 as the reason for conducting JEE Main exam in this manner.
On why the Agency is reversing the 4-sessions plan to two attempts, an official told TOI, “Situation was different due to the second wave. However, things have improved and based on the current situation it has been decided that two attempts would be as beneficial.”
Adding to this, the official cited another reason which is delay in Class 12 Board exams, which might not give enough time to students to prepare for the JEE Main 2022 and to begin the admission process on time.
Until 2019, candidates were permitted to write JEE Main only once in an academic year.
Candidates can expect the beginning of the registration process for JEE Main by the end of February. “The registration will start by the end of this month,” the official was quoted as saying.
JEE Main is a national-level entrance exam for admission to various engineering, architecture, and planning undergraduate courses across India. A multi-session computer-based test, JEE Mains 2022 registration process will be updated on the official website of the exam, that is, jeemain.nta.nic.in
