Show the schematic diagram of the ramp inclined at an angle of 40° from the horizontal as in Figure (1).

Assume that there is no friction between the mass and the ramp, and air resistance is negligible.

Express the velocity of the object at the bottom of the ramp.

ΔKE+ΔPE=012m(V22V12)+mg(z2z1)=012(V22V12)+g(z2z1)=0 (I)

Here, change in gravitational kinetic energy is ΔKE, change in gravitational potential energy is ΔPE, mass of object is m, acceleration due to gravity is g, initial height is z1, final height is z2, velocity at the top is V1 and velocity at the bottom is V2.

As the initial or velocity at the top is negligible, take it as 0.

Substitute 0 for V1 in Equation (I)

Faraday's Law: In the Faraday's Law experiment, the behavior of voltages induced in a solenoid by magnetic fields was studied. In Figure 8, two solenoids are placed side by side; one of these is connected to a voltage sensor and the other to a variable voltage source. (Figure 8A) Identify the poles of the magnetic field B that is generated by the current, according to the drawing on Solenoid #1. Assume that initially the voltage is zero (V = 0V) at Solenoid #1. If we increase the voltage from 0V to 25V at Solenoid #1: Identify the pole of the induced magnetic field B to the right of Solenoid #2 and draw the direction of the induced current in Solenoid #2. The change in magnetic flux ΔΦb through Solenoid #2 is the product of the magnetic field generated in Solenoid #1. This means that the magnetic flux Φb has increased or decreased. 7.
