It is more prevalent in areas with poor sanitation and limited access to clean water. The disease has been eradicated in many countries through widespread vaccination efforts. Symptoms: The majority of polio infections are asymptomatic or result in mild flu-like symptoms. The disease remains endemic in only a few countries, including Afghanistan and Pakistan.
