It consists of a heart and a circulation that perfuses the lungs (pulmonary circulation) and the other major organs (heart, brain, muscle, bone, GI+liver, kidney, skin, and others lumped together). The cardiac output (CO) is 5 L/min. The percentage of CO for each organ is given. The pressure at the aorta (MAP) is maintained constant at 102 mm Hg and the right atrial pressure is 2 mm Hg. The pressure in the pulmonary artery is 15 mmHg and at the left atrium, it is 5 mmHg. a) What is the total peripheral resistance (TPR)? b) What is the pulmonary vascular resistance?
