I do not understand this at all, and my professor is on vacation. Exhaled carbon dioxide will be assessed using the pH indicator Phenolphthalein. In order to understand the rationale for its use, it is necessary to know 1) the effective range of the pH indicator, and 2) the colors it turns at its low and high range.
