With several people trapped due to rains and many who were injured due road accidents, the 108 pilots and medical technicians worked hard to ensure the medical services were available to them. According to information, a 108 ambulance was called when a 75 year old Pald resident needed emergency treatment. In another incident in Saraspur, a 12 year old was injured in a bike accident. The child was bleeding heavily due to a leg injury and the 108 staff, after giving initial treatment, took him to Shardaben Hospital. Bihani said. "There are 3,000 emergencies in the state and 550 in Ahmedabad in normal circumstances. On Sunday, there were 545 emergencies in the city, some of which were trauma related due to road accidents." He said Emergency Medical Technicians and pilots are commemorated under a reward and recognition programme by 108.
