We know that ductility is the property of a substance by virtue of which it can be drawn into thin wire. Generally metals are ductile. For example, copper, iron, aluminium. But mercury is the only metal that is liquid at room temperature and cannot be deformed into wires. Also, sodium and potassium are difficult to deform into wires. Non-metals are non-ductile in nature.
