Answer: Traits acquired during the lifetime of an individual are not inherited, as these traits develop in the individual in response to the environment. Only those traits  which are associated with the DNA of the parents are passed onto children. Acquired traits do not make any changes in the DNA; hence, they are not passed from parents to children.
