Force is attractive. When direction of force is known, we will use Coulomb's law to find magnitude of force only. We should write both and with positive sign only in equation (2).
Force is attractive.
Force is enormous. It is nearly equal to weight of two hundred thousand elephants! We can draw two important conclusions from this simple example:
(a) Electrostatic force is quite strong and
(b) is a huge amount of charge. In real life we do not get objects having few coulomb charge on them. Practical units of charge are etc.
