Class 10 Math All topics Quadratic Equations

Check whether the following are Quadratic equations

$(x+2)_{3}=2x(x_{2}−1)$

$(x+2)_{3}=2x(x_{2}−1)$

Solution:

$(x+2)_{3}=2x(x_{2}−1)$

$⇒x_{3}+8+6x(x+2)=2x_{3}−2x$

$⇒x_{3}+8+6x_{2}+12x−2x_{3}+2x=0$

$⇒−x_{3}+4x_{2}+14x+8=0$ has its highest power $3$

Hence it is not a quadratic equation.
