If you want your dream college or a good job in a hospital, here are some key insights for you!

We created a strategy called SPTR. It stands for Segregate. Prioritize. Test. Revise. We will use this strategy to crack down on the NEET exam along with expert vetted processes. We will also look at what tutors have to say on how to prepare for NEET.

Moving on to the SPTR Framework…

Step 1: Segregate the Syllabus

The first step in strategic preparation is understanding the syllabus and what topics will be tested on. Doing that will help you plan accordingly when it comes to time management and what areas you should focus more on during the prep phase.

You can find the entire syllabus for NEET 2021 here: Syllabus For NEET 2021

Once you have your entire syllabus sorted, You are ready for the next step and this is to Prioritize.

Step 2: Prioritize What Needs To Be Learnt!

The next step is to strategically study for the NEET exam and since we have the entire syllabus sorted out, we definitely need to prioritize our revision strategy. Not all chapters in NEET are weighted equally, some topics have a much more chance of getting in the paper when compared to the other sections.

We asked some of our tutors, “What are the sure-shot chapters and topics that need to be at your fingertips for NEET?”, we’ve hence compiled the following list of important topics for NEET Preparation.

7 General Tips From Tutors:

  1. NCERT is your go-to bible for NEET. Several if not all questions come from NCERT textbooks.
  2. Solving previous year papers is also a good way to ensure you are confident with the exam pattern of NEET. The pattern has a slight change in this year and it has been covered in the following post:
  3. Give an exam between 2-5pm while revising to get your body clock adjusted towards maximum performance.
  4. Attempt all questions you know first and if a question takes time to solve, move ahead and come back on it later.
  5. Try to solve numerical problems, especially for Physics. Memorize formulas.
  6. Physics and Chemistry is more calculation intensive while Biology focuses more on memory retention of topics. So prepare your mind appropriately to tackle these subjects based on what they demand.
  7. Prepare notes while you study which you can look at while you revise for your NEET Preparation.

3 Subject-wise Tips From Tutors:

  1. Physics:

Physics is the most complicated part of NEET preparation as per students. It doesn’t necessarily have to be that way. Our Filo Tutor Saifi Karim recommends prioritizing the following topics:

  • Modern Physics
  • Magnetism
  • AC
  • EMI
  • Thermodynamics
  • Work & Energy
  • Waves
  • Rotational Mechanics
  • Mechanics ( Try to finish other topics before attempting mechanics as this is time consuming )

Saifi is a tutor at Filo who graduated from DTU and was a part of the Super 30 program. He now teaches at Filo and has experience of over 6 years.

  1. Chemistry:

Chemistry is a bit tricky to tackle. It’s divided into three subparts. Physical Chemistry, Organic and Inorganic Chemistry. Our tutor Anuroop recommends the following topics:

  • General Organic Chemistry
  • Chemical Bonding
  • Thermodynamics
  • Equilibrium
  • Coordination Compounds ( very lengthy, but rewarding)
  • Alcohols, Phenols, Ethers
  • Chemistry in Everyday Life
  • Mole Concept
  • Biomolecules
  • Polymers

Anuroop teaches on Filo and has graduated from IIT-BHU. He has been teaching since his early days in college and has been teaching in many coaching institutes since then.

  1. Biology:

Biology is considered to be the easiest subject in NEET. But again, easy subject shouldnt mean that one should tread lightly while studying Bio. Here’s what Iqbal, a tutor at Filo considers to be a priority in Biology:

  • Diversity in Living World
  • Genetics and Evolution
  • Human Physiology
  • Structural Organisation in Animals and Plants
  • Ecology and environment
  • Plant Physiology

Iqbal is a tutor at Filo and graduated from SKUAST and has been one of our top tutors at Filo. He has vast experience in teaching Biology and his unique style of teaching is praised a lot amongst students.

Step 3: Test Yourself! Not Once, Continuously!

The next phase is to test your knowledge and unsurprisingly, this is where you know how thorough you are with your study progress. It also goes without saying that this is not a one-stop check that you mark as complete and move forward, rather it’s an ongoing process repeated over time and the more you do, the better you get at it.

Be sure to keep improving as you move through the tests you do, else there is no point in doing them at all. Also, if you’re stuck somewhere, we have tutors available 24×7 for free via the Filo App which can be downloaded here!

Step 4: Revise!

Finally, revise! Nothing fancy to write about revising other than that its absolutely important like all previous steps above. Revision is the key to having a good depth of knowledge. This is what separates the best students from the average ones. Unless you’re Michael Ross from the Suits or Sheldon Cooper from the Big Bang Theory, chances are that you won’t retain everything you see once. So keep revising! Here is an excellent piece of advice on How to Revise Your Concepts Extensively!

That’s it from us folks… That was our SPTR framework for you to ace your NEET exam. All the best for your NEET Preparation and do well! <3
