Frequently Asked Questions:

How long does it take for PSAT results to show up?

The PSAT scores are usually available in early December, about six weeks after the student takes the test.

How many points is the PSAT out of 2022?

Each of the three exams will give you a score ranging from 8 to 38. Your overall PSAT score, which is derived by putting your two area scores together, will range from 320 to 1520.

Can you see the questions you got wrong on PSAT?

You may see the question and answer explanation by clicking on a question number. You can look through the questions you got wrong and figure out why. You’ll find a summary of your performance on each of the PSAT’s skill groups on the Your Skills tab.

Is the PSAT Important for College Admissions?

Because the SAT or ACT are significantly more crucial in determining your acceptance or rejection into college, the simple answer is that PSAT results are rarely taken into account by institutions.

What if I don’t take the PSAT?

If a student misses the PSAT/NMSQT in their junior year due to sickness or other unavoidable circumstances, they can take the “alternative testing option.” Instead of taking the PSAT/NMSQT, students can take the SAT 1, and their results will be converted and used in place of the PSAT/NMSQT.

What is a good PSAT score?

Anything above the 75th percentile is generally considered reasonable, indicating that your chances of performing well in the SAT exam are high.

Are PSAT and SAT different?

Yes, they are two different exams. But they are also related because PSAT stands for Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test (or Preliminary SAT). For this reason, it is considered a warm-up test for the SAT exam.

To Sum Up it!

The majority of universities are unaware of your PSAT scores. PSAT results are not forwarded to universities and are not used to make admission choices. The PSAT primarily assesses students’ readiness for the SAT and college-level courses.
