KEAM 2022 Eligibility Criteria

KEAM 2022 offers courses including Engineering, Agriculture, Pharmacy and B.Sc. (Hons.) among others. Candidates must fill in the application form in order to write the KEAM 2022 entrance exam.

An important criteria to check before applying for KEAM 2022 is that the candidate must be of 17 years of age or above on 31st December 2022.

KEAM 2022 Eligibility Criteria

KEAM 2022 offers various courses and each course requires different eligibility criteria. Below is the course-wise KEAM 2022 Eligibility Criteria in detail.

Qualification for Medical/Allied courses

Candidates appearing for the KEAM 2022 must have passed class XII or higher secondary examination with science stream.

For MBBS, BDS, BSMS

●  Candidates must have cleared the higher secondary examination of Board of Higher secondary education, Kerala with an aggregate of 50% marks in Biology/Biotechnology, Physics and Chemistry. And, 50% marks in Biology separately.

●  If the candidate had opted for Biotechnology instead of Biology, then it would be considered as a relevant subject.

●  Candidates who have qualified NEET in the same academic sessions are eligible for KEAM 2022.

BAMS/ BHMS

●  Candidates must have cleared the higher secondary examination of Board of Higher secondary education, Kerala with an aggregate of 50% marks in Biology/Biotechnology, Physics and Chemistry.

●  Candidates must have secured 50% marks in Biology separately.

●  If the candidate did not have Biology as a subject in the higher secondary examination, Biotechnology will not be considered as a subject.

●  Candidates who have qualified NEET exam in the same academic sessions are also eligible.

BUMS

●  Candidates applying for Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery- BUMS (main Kamil-E-Tib-O-Jarahat) should have cleared the higher secondary examination of Board of Higher secondary education, Kerala with an aggregate of 50% marks in Biology/Biotechnology, Physics and Chemistry.

●  Candidates must have secured 50% marks in Biology separately.

●  Candidates are required to have cleared High school (10th standard) with Urdu or Arabic or Persian language as a subject. Candidates who have cleared Kerala Government’s Urdu entrance examination are also eligible for KEAM 2022.

●  Candidates are also required to qualify NEET in the same academic session.

B.Sc. (Hons.)Agri., B.Sc. (Hons.)Forestry, BF Sc. courses

●  Candidates have to pass a higher secondary examination of Board of Higher secondary education, Kerala with an aggregate of 50% marks in Biology/Biotechnology, Physics and Chemistry.

●  Candidates are required to secure 50% marks in Biology separately.

●  If the candidate did not have Biology as a subject in the higher secondary examination, Biotechnology will not be considered as a subject.

BVSc. & AH course

Candidates need to pass a higher secondary examination of Board of Higher secondary education, Kerala with an aggregate of 50% marks in Biology, Physics, Chemistry and English.

B.Sc. Degree Holders

●  Candidates must have cleared B.Sc. degree (three-year course) with Physics/ Chemistry/Zoology/Botany or Biotechnology as main subjects, and two of the above-given subjects as optional.

●  Candidates are required to score a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in main and optional together.

●  Candidates are also required to qualify the higher secondary education with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as main subjects.

Qualification for Engineering courses

●  Candidates have to pass a higher secondary examination of Board of Higher secondary education, Kerala with an aggregate of 50% marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.

●  Candidates must have secured 50% marks in Mathematics alone.

●  For the management quota, Candidates must have cleared the higher secondary examination from the Board of Higher secondary education, Kerala with 45% marks in Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics.

●  For candidates who have not studied Chemistry/Computer Science/Biotechnology, then the marks obtained in Biology can be considered.

Qualification for Architectural courses

For agricultural courses, candidates are required to be eligible in all the criteria mentioned below.

●  Candidates are required to clear the higher secondary examination or any other equivalent examination.

●  Candidates who have a qualified diploma (10+3) in any stream with Mathematics may also apply for KEAM 2022.

●  Candidates also need to qualify for the NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) 2022 examination with minimum eligibility marks to apply for this course.

Qualification for Pharmacy Courses

The rank list and admissions are held in this course based on the mark secured in the Physics & Chemistry Paper.

Following are the criteria for all the candidates who want to enrol in the pharmacy courses:

●  Candidates must be Indian citizens.

●  Candidates must have cleared the higher secondary examination with 50% marks in Biology/ Mathematics separately and Biology/ Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry altogether.

KEAM 2022 Eligibility on the Basis of Nativity

Candidates applying for KEAM 2022 will be categorized into three categories – Keralite, Non-Keralite Category I (NK I) and Non-Keralite Category II (NK II).

Keralite

Candidates with Kerala origin will be considered in the Keralite category. They need to produce a certificate proving that either their father or mother was born in Kerala.

This category is also applicable for the children of all Indian Service (AIS) Officers (Non- Keralite) allotted to the Kerala Cadre. However, they will not be eligible for reservation.

Non-Keralite I

Candidates who are not of Kerala origin but qualify the following criteria mentioned below will be categorized into Non-Keralite I (NK I ).

  • A resident of Kerala for five years during 12 years of study and is a non-Keralite
  • Studied in Kerala from Class 8 to 12 and is not of Kerala origin
  • Studied 10+2 in Kerala and any of the one Non-Keralite parents works as a Central government employee/ or is in Defence services, in Kerala
  • Has studied 10+2 in Kerala and any of the one Non-Keralite parents is serving/has served Government of Kerala for at least two years including the period of study of the qualifying exam.

Non-Keralite II

Candidates who do not fall under the category of Keralite or in Non-Keralite category- I will be considered as Non-Keralite category-II. 

These candidates may take admission in government or self-financing Engineering colleges in the state. During admissions, they are eligible to take up either a government seat or management seat.

But the candidates in Non-Keralite II category will only be considered in government seats in self-financing government colleges only when the seats are vacant. Priority will be given to the candidates from Keralite and Non- Keralite I categories over them.

Candidates in this category are not eligible for reservations.

KEAM 2022 Registration

The authority conducting the KEAM 2022 entrance exam will release the KEAM application form 2022 in online mode. 

Here are the steps to follow when applying for KEAM registration 2022. 

  • Candidates are required to submit the complete application form for KEAM 2022 before the last date.
  • You can log in to the official website of CEE Kerala to register yourself online to create an application number and password to log in for the admission process online.
  • The next step required the candidate to fill in all the details asked in the application form, including personal, educational details along with uploading your passport size picture and signature.
  • After filling in all the details, candidates have to pay the application fees which are as follows:

General: Rs.700

SC/ST: Rs.300

  • Following the completion of the process, candidates must take a printout of the application form. It will come during the admission process.

KEAM 2022 Admit Card

KEAM 2022 Admit card can be downloaded from the official website of CEE Kerala. For this, the candidates need to put in their login credentials.

Candidates appearing for KEAM 2022 must carry the admit card. If they fail to produce the admit card at the exam centre, they would not be permitted to enter and write the entrance exam.

KEAM 2022 Syllabus

KEAM 2022 syllabus will consist of all three subjects based in class 11th and 12th – Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics.

KEAM 2022 Counselling

  • As soon as the KEAM 2022 results are announced, candidates qualifying for the exam as per the rank list can participate in the KEAM 2022 counselling process. 
  • It will be held in three rounds where the candidates are allotted seats based on their preferences and availability of seats in college and the course of their choice.
  • Candidates are required to get their original documents verified which were uploaded when filling the application form.
