What does the TOEFL score mean?

The result for 2021 will include both sectional scores and a total score. Each section will have a score range of 0–30, so the total score range is 1–120.

Individual scores for each of the four parts, as well as a total score, are included in a TOEFL score report. In the 2021 score report, a candidate will see the following variety of scores:

• Each component has a score range of 0 to 30 for reading, listening, speaking, and writing.

• The points from each area are summed together to provide a total score ranging from 0 to 120.

Since each component has four or five skill levels, each applicant is graded according to the levels listed below:

How to request a TOEFL score review?

Within 30 days of the test, you can request a score review for the Writing and/or Speaking sections. In addition, the applicant must pay a $80 charge for each request.

If the applicant wishes to look through both portions, the charge will be US$160.

Requests for review of the exam result can only be made once. If the candidate wants both portions reviewed, he or she must submit a request at the same time. Separate applications will not be taken into consideration.

After the results have been evaluated, the updated scores will become official. If the applicant has asked the results to be submitted to a specific school or organization, the scores cannot be examined in such circumstances.
