Androecium is the third whorl of a flower. Its each unit is called microsporophyll or stamen. It is the male reproductive organ of the flower. A stamen is made up of a stalk called the filament and an anther which contains microsporangia. Pollen grains develop from a microspore in the microsporangium and contain the male gametophyte.
