Seasonality of plants is seen due to changes in the length of the photoperiod. Various seasonal events occurs by exposure to specific photoperiod length called as the critical day length. Depending upon the length of photoperiod, there are two terms, short day plants and long day plants. Short day plants will flower when the photoperiod is less that the critical day length. Long day plants will flower when the photoperiod is longer than the critical day length. Hence, long day plants flower in summer and short day plants flower in spring.
Thus, the correct answer is option C.
